Help Ivor achieve his dream of hosting a photo exhibit,
titled The Quiet of Creation, in his hometown(s).

The Core Idea:

This exhibit is a collection born from quiet trails and still waters—moments of discovery amidst grief and loss. Through intimate portraits of wildlife and landscape photography, The Quiet of Creation captures the beauty, resilience, and stillness found in the natural world, offering viewers the same sense of refuge I found behind the lens.

It is an invitation for the community to pause, slow down, and find the grounding peace described in Wendell Berry’s beloved poem, The Peace of Wild Things.

The Work: A Focus on Local Beauty

The collection features 20-40 archival-quality photographs, primarily sourced from my Birds of Radnor Lake project. This body of work documents the hidden biodiversity of Tennessee's state parks, emphasizing the wonder and color that exists just outside our everyday lives.

The presentation emphasizes quality and detail:

  • Medium: Archival Pigment Prints (Printed in-house by Ivor for complete quality control over color, detail, and tone).

  • Narrative: Each piece is accompanied by a brief text that shares the unique story of the animal or the moment captured, fostering a deeper connection for the viewer.

The Mission: Art for Everyone

Inspired by the generosity of nature itself, we aim to make this experience and the resulting art accessible to all. The goal is to bring people who cherish art and nature together, regardless of economic background.

We propose a Community-Centered Model for the sale of small-scale items (cards, postcards, small prints) where contributions are suggested to cover material costs. This model is designed to:

  1. Reduce Barriers: Ensure art ownership is accessible to everyone in the community.

  2. Foster Connection: Prioritize shared experience and community building over commercial profit.

(Note: Larger, framed pieces would retain standard gallery pricing for revenue generation, but this text focuses on the generous spirit of the mission.)

Partnership Goals: What I Seek in a Venue

  • A Welcoming Home: A gallery, museum, community center, or public space in Cleveland, Lakewood or Nashville that values community outreach, conservation, or creative expression.

  • Opportunities for Engagement: Support for hosting community events, such as an Artist Talk on the creative process.

  • Outreach Alignment: Partnering with organizations—especially those focused on refugee care, foster care, or wildlife conservation—to amplify the exhibit's message and reach.

(I’m also open to other cities, but the majority of my network exists in Cleveland and Nashville).
